28th Kontrapunkt Radio Show (The Night) August 27, 2015 Announcement

I invite you to our next meeting in last Thursday evening of August on the Rock Serwis FM radio.
  

This edition will be both unusual and special.
The second hour of the show will be dedicated to the music of one band only. I was impatiently awaiting for the latest album by Lycia entitled "A Line That Connects" and now the great opportunity arises to dedicate the whole hour to this amazing American band. We will be listening to the best, most personal recordings of this release selected for you by Mike VanPortfleet himself, separated by tracks from the first three albums recorded by Lycia. 

And the first hour? I will try by using music (in most cases brand new) and a poem to enchant you and lead you into the night.

27th Kontrapunkt Radio Show (Continuum #4) August 20, 2015 Announcement

Subtitle of my next radio show (Continuum) means that once again we will meet the artists and the bands who were featured on the previous programs or have been intended to be presented more often. However, new titles will also appear. This time you can expect a little bit more gothic and post punk guitar sounds, although the beginning will be electronic. Almost the entire program will be drawn with a rather gloomy colours.

In "Lost in Time" we will listen to the archive tape "Hot-Bip" published in 1983, which included compositions by Philippe Laurent, known to us from last week's presentation of this year's single "Mithra". 

I'll also have prepared for the air play a new single by a post punk legend which returns after 31 years of silence. For fans of Bauhaus a must! The single will be released in late September this year.

For the first time in the history of the show, in its giveaway section I will have for you not only a new physical release but also long BEFORE its official street date in September. In an era in which no one trusts one another being afraid of music leak to the internet it is a remarkable event, worthy of appreciation and special thanks, an expression of confidence in us meaning in the show and its listeners by the artists themselves. These will be the "Acedia" CD by Polish act Hidden By Ivy.

Kontrapunkt Radio Show (Ice) August 13, 2015 Announcement

Weather forecasts predict approx. 2 weeks more of tropical conditions here in Poland. This time I will propose to you music, which at least partially should bring a little coolness.

Among other things, there will be a new ethereal music of John Fryer, brand new single by Philippe Laurent, the latest recordings from Maciek Szymczuk, fresh music by Andrzej "Andy" Turaj known to you from God's Own Medicine and whose music has been highly regarded by listeners, who along with Rafal Tomaszczuk (earlier in Polish synthpop band Agonised by Love) will release a new record as Hidden by Ivy on September 4th. (4AD alert!). Certainly Edward Ka-Spel will appear and his story about rats and pigs which did not fit week ago and there will be of course several new recordings more.

In addition, the promised competition (for fans of synthpop) and by the special request of many of you Minuit Machine will return. The next meeting of "Lost in time" this time will cover the lost project connected personally with the group Tangerine Dream but sounding surprisingly different.

Kontrapunkt Radio Show (#25) August 06, 2015 Announcement

This Thursday the premiere of  25th edition of Kontrapunkt (another small jubilee) will take place so the subtitle of the show is obvious.

As usual the program content will be the music from a variety of genres, in the vast majority from new releases (for instance unreleased until now tracks by John Foxx and Kirlian Camera and if time permits, Edward Ka-Spel). In several recordings we will hear Polish language and few Polish projects will be on air as well..

There will also be a little jubilee summaries, also I have prepared a contest, this time for music fans of cold wave and post-punk.

Also we will bid farewell to our dear music friends - Louis Zachert (Cycloon, Metroland) and Stephen Huss (formerly Psyche), who passed away this weekend.
