Kontrapunkt Radio Show (On Vacation 1 - music only), June 8th, 2017 Announcement

KONTRAPUNKT ON SUMMER VACATION

Tonight Thursday June 8th, 2017 at 21.00 (CEST, UTC+02:00) the new Kontrapunkt Radio Show will be aired on Rock Serwis FM. It will be the first summer holiday edition of the show.

Show première - Thursday at 21.00
Show replay - Saturday at 19.00

As it has already been said in the 116th edition of Kontrapunkt Radio Show - our meetings are going to the holiday mode that will last until September, when a new refreshed radio schedule will be launched.

During that time you may expect sets (music only mixtapes), albums appearing in larger parts, occasional replays of older show editions.

At that time your host will be with you mostly in the text mode writing comments with you.

The first holiday edition of the show will be for fans of the synthesizer music from the past.

Kraftwerk will begin with the themes from the "3-D The Catalogue" box, followed by a modern project inspired by  the electronic giants of Dusseldorf.
Then a Swedish synthpop duo will appear, their music draws a handful of inspirations from the new romantic movement of the 80s.

In the first episode of the new summer series under working title "Classics of Electronic Sensitivity", I will remind you the Soft Cell album "The Art Of Falling Apart", released in 1983.

In the end, for the fans of new romantic I have a surprise - new song with the guest vocalist  - Mac Austin known as the voice of White Door. The whole song is a tribute to this cult group.

And the last track will be performed by ARGH...

Stay tuned!

“These are dreams, dreamed by dreamers, who are awake”!

Host reserves the right to change the program at the last minute in case of events beyond his control.

Kontrapunkt wakacyjnie
08.06.2017 Wydanie 1

Premiera - czwartek o godzinie 21.00

"These are dreams, dreamed by dreamers, who are awake.”

Serdecznie zapraszam!

Prowadzący zastrzega sobie możliwość zmiany układu programu w ostatniej chwili w przypadku wystąpienia zdarzeń od niego niezależnych.

Pozdrawiam i do usłyszenia.

White Door "Windows" in Rock Serwis FM

On Tuesday May 19, 2015 at 20.00 in our series "Saving from oblivion" White Door "Windows" 1983 album will be presented and discussed by my radio colleges Marek Anioł and Bogdan Dziewonski. If you love 80's new romantic stay tuned!

About the band:
Formed by members of Stoke prog-rock group Grace.
"Maybe it was the advent of punk maybe it was the bickering amongst the band members, maybe the band was frightened of success. Whatever the reasons, Grace split up in 1981, much to the shock of their hundreds of staunch followers.Individuals carried out a few splinter projects, but the only serious new contender was the formation of the synthesiser band White Door. The line up featured the vocalist Mac and Flautist Harry from the defunct Grace, together with brother John on keyboards. As White Door, they released an album "Windows" and several singles (including "Windows", "Jerusalem", and "Flame in my Heart"). Although the music represented an almost complete change of direction, the quality of song writing still showed through, and the established music press almost admitted to liking them."
White Door created sensitive, well-written, electronic music. Their last single "Flame in My Heart" should have been a huge hit. The first song from their never recorded second album. Synthesisiers were still in use, but guitars made a greater appearance. A wonderful despairing love song. The instrumental riff was borrowed from Frankie goes to Hollywood's "Two Tribes". Frankie were recording in the same studios. White Door's producer, Andy Richards, ended up working with Frankie's producer Trevor Horn.) was more guitar-driven and took its instrumental riff from Frankie Goes to Hollywood's "Two Tribes / One February Friday" who were recording at the time. White Door's producer, Andy Richards, went on to work with many top acts, including Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Sue Quin provided backing vocals. Their album and 3 of their singles contained original artwork by Paul Warrillow.
